Valsamata Old Village
Destroyed by the great earth quake of 1953, Valsamata was rebuilt in close proximity with help from the British.
Close by is a dried up river bed where water used to flow, since the earthquake the water flows underground. At particularly wet times water does flow above ground. This coupled with the deserted ruins is an eerie site.
Well worth a trip to see especially as nearby is St. Gerassimo and the Robola co-operative wineyards.
