27/07/2004 Rosie Have just returned from our honeymoon in Skala... it was the most amazing and beautiful week I have ever had. We stayed in Casa d'Ionio which is part of The Old Village/Zorba's...my only advice is go there now! The staff were friendly and welcomming and we miss hteir hospitality already! A personal recommendation is to book through Kosmar, as they are specialist in Greece, know the areas, know the locals and went out of their way to ensure our stay was memorable.
01/07/2004 Jasmin i been there last week in Skala, i want go again i think it's so amazing!! i met my lover person live there, beautiful place i never seen in my life!!
10/06/2004 Harry Just had a fabulous weeks holiday in Skala, we wished we had booked for two weeks. We thought the village was compact and everything you would need is at hand. The Tavernas set a high standard, clean good food and superd service. As it was our first vist to the island we hired a car for three days and went around the island to the other resots. Apart from Lassi it was very quiet and met little traaffic on the well tarmaced but narrow roads. Lassi was a disappointmentas it clearly was a resort hurriedly built along a long main road.No character as I could see, although it was a pleasnt walk to a sandy beach. Assos was a lovely harbour, nice for a day visit and Fiskardo was very pretty and unspoilt.Sami was also very quiet in JUne 2004 along with POros. We were the onlu couple on the sea front promonade. We loved Kefalonia and cannot wait to go back to Skala as soon as possible.

10/04/2004 lisa i've just seen on this website 'no cash machine' in skala town... there is one! either just before or just after Veto on the right of skala mainstreet.
25/10/2003 david we visited skala in october 2003,this was our third visit to this resort but was our last.first of all the public buses were running at a reduced service and in the case of fiskado were taken off alltogether.the reason was because it was (end of season)then what were all those people doing there in the hotels.along with a local who swerved on a purpose and nearly hit us with his car and sitting in bars hoping to watch a english football match but finding the television either switched off or anything but english programmes on.watching television wouldnt matter so much if the local people could be bothered to provide so entertainment instead of just taking peoples money for grotty small rooms, medoicre food, and boring bars and tavernas.after many trips to greece we will be making no more, and meeting some not very nice greeks even though we have learnt some of the language and have been patient with the stubborn and rude manner shown to holidaymakers enough is enough.by the way if anyone is thinking of staying in the (villa sophia)think again it is a ramshackle dump with crap furniture that needs burning and the whole place stinks.GOODBYE GREECE FOREVER.
29/09/2003 Michelle Just returned from a wonderful holiday in Skala. In terms of restaurants The Pines and The Flamingo (try and sit in the garden at the back) are well worth a visit.
07/09/2003 Di, Neil, Claire We stayed 3rd to 17th August and had the best and most memorable holiday ever.Beautiful place, fabulous tavernas and bars and most of all the locals were very hospitable and friendly with a great sense of humour. We would recommend anyone to go, we will definately go again.
