All though only in their first season after moving
from Cyprus, Anne and the original team at Galera restaurant have
quickly gained a reputation for high quality food and a wide and
varied range of dishes. Some meals are unique to the Galera Restaurant
like the "Kotsi" (roasted pork served on the bone with local vegetables).
With over 20 different appetizers plus a selection of salads it
can take a while to choose your starter let alone your main courses!
The dishes that stand out are grilled shrimps with bacon, baked peppers
stuffed with ham and cheese, seafood saganaki (mussels and shrimps grilled
with feta in a tomato sauce). For main course try a traditional Greek
dish like Lamb Kleftiko (roasted off the bone with potatoes, garlic, and
feta cheese) or Kokkinisto (beef in a casserole with vegetables). Galera's
sail around the world section is worth a look with chicken curry, paella,
sweet and sour chicken to name a few. Fillet steaks are a specialty of
the house, with Mignon, peppered, Alaska, Lyonnaise, and Galera just some
of the different sauces available. Galera also serves plain sirloin steak
with onion rings, salad and French fries.
